Pop Mart did not just open a store in Culver City—they planted their entire U.S. headquarters here. The choice says everything about the company's ambitions: Culver City is where Sony Pictures, Amazon Studios, and Apple TV+ have offices. Pop Mart is not thinking like a toy company. It is thinking like a content company.
The Store Experience
Smaller than Times Square but more curated. The Culver City store feels like a gallery: clean lines, museum-style lighting, and a rotation of artist spotlights that change monthly. When we visited, the feature wall was dedicated to Kasing Lung (Labubu's creator), with original sketches alongside production figures.
The staff here are noticeably more knowledgeable than at mall locations. Several are collectors themselves and can walk you through the history of specific series, point out subtle design differences between editions, and recommend based on your aesthetic preferences rather than just pushing new releases.
LA Exclusives
The store carries a small selection of LA-only colorways—typically 2-3 SKUs that rotate quarterly. During our visit, a Labubu "Sunset Boulevard" variant was available for $18.99. These exclusives tend to appreciate on the secondary market, making them worth the detour if you are in the area.
The Neighborhood Factor
Culver City's walkable downtown means you can combine the Pop Mart visit with lunch at Hayato, coffee at Cognoscenti, and a browse through the Platform complex. It is a full afternoon, not just a store run.
